Representatives Jim McDermott and Jesse Jackson, Jr. welcomed Representatives Tom Marino and John Fleming MD to the Congressional Kidney Caucus as the new co-chair and vice chair. The bipartisan Kidney Caucus provides a forum for discussion on quality of care and life issues and acts as a resource on the scope and impact of kidney disease, as well as serving as a source of information on kidney–related public policy initiatives.

“As a two–time survivor of kidney cancer, I am excited about the opportunity to serve as a co–chair of the Congressional Kidney Caucus,” said Rep. Marino, R–Pa. “By sharing my personal experiences with other members of Congress, we will increase the awareness and understanding of the circumstances that face millions of Americans who suffer from kidney disease.”
