Larry Emerson, the administrator for Dialysis Centers of Lincoln, in Nebraska, won the The National Renal Administrators Association's annual Mark Zawiski Award. Emerson has been a member of the NRAA for eight years, and is a past president. Outgoing president Sue Rottura said Emerson was an "outspoken candidate" who has been on numerous NRAA committees.
"I've gotten more than I ever gave," said Emerson in accepting the award, adding that the organization is represented by people who are 'so passionate' about caring for patients.
The award is named to honor Zawiski, who was an active member of the NRAA in the 1980s and 1990s before his untimely death.
