The health care sector added approximately 31,000 jobs in January to a total of 14.2 million workers throughout the country, a 0.2% increase over December, according to preliminary data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Hospitals and ambulatory care services each added about 13,000 jobs during the month, while physician offices added 2,700 jobs.
