• Home Dialyzors United responds to proposed Network Scope of Work Feb. 21 In a letter to Acting CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner, president Richard Berkowitz said the proposal has merit--as long as patient input is taken seriously.
• Forum of ESRD Networks warns CROWNWeb not ready for March start date Feb. 15 The Forum of ESRD Networks said that it has “urgent concerns” about CROWNWeb and does not believe the system is ready for its March 2 deployment date.
• CMS sets Feb. 17 deadline for network contract comments Feb. 13 The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released a proposed scope of work for the ESRD Networks on Feb. 3 covering 2012-2013. The renal community had until Feb. 17 to submit comments on the plan.
• Slides from ESRD QIP Open Door Forum available Feb. 2 The presentation included an overview of changes to the QIP and addressed the quality measures, scoring methodology, and payment implications of these changes.
• U.S. Food and Drug Administration launches ESRD Innovation Challenge Jan. 31 The FDA announced it is launching a new pilot program, called Innovation Challenge, for real-time review of devices that address end-stage renal disease.
• DOPPS Practice Monitor webinar slides available Jan. 27 On Jan. 19 the Dialysis Outcomes and Practice Patterns Study presented a webinar on emerging trends from the Dialysis Practice Monitor.
