Cindy Richards, BSN, RN, CNN, of Birmingham, Ala. has been elected national president-elect of the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association (ANNA) for 2014-15. Richards will serve on ANNA’s Board of Directors and as liaison to assigned committees. Richards is a pediatric renal transplant coordinator at Children’s of Alabama.

Along with Richards, several other individuals were elected to national leadership positions for 2014-15 and will serve on the ANNA board of directors, including:

Secretary: Lynda Ball, MSN, RN, CNN, of Edmond, Okla., was re-elected to serve a second term. Ball is Quality Improvement Director for Network 13 in Oklahoma City.

Director: Alice Hellebrand, MSN, RN, CNN, of Dumont, N.J. Hellebrand is the area clinical coordinator for multiple hospital-based acute care dialysis programs in New Jersey and New York. As an ANNA director, she will serve as a liaison between the board of directors and committees, and be assigned to special projects.

Director: Nancy Pierce, BSN, RN, CNN, of Elliston, Mont. Pierce is director of dialysis at St. Peters Hospital in Helena, Mont. As an ANNA director, she will serve as a liaison between the board of directors and committees, and be assigned to special projects.

The newly elected candidates will assume their respective positions during the ANNA 45th National Symposium, April 13-16, 2014, in Anaheim, Calif. They will join existing Board members as follows: 2014-2015 President Sharon Longton, BSN, RN, CNN, CCTC; Immediate Past President Norma Gomez, MBA, MSN, RN, CNN; Treasurer Charla Litton, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, CNN; Director Paula Richards, MSN, RN, CNN, and Director Phyllis Wille, MS, RN, FNP-C, CNN.
