Berkshire Hathaway Inc. has bought more than 1.3 million more shares in DaVita Healthcare Partners Inc., the Denver Post reported Dec. 10. This ups the holding company's ownership of the health care provider to 36.5 million shares, or about 17.1%. Berkshire, which is run by billionaire Warren Buffet, has agreed not to buy more that 25% of the company. Berkshire made its latest share purchases between Dec. 5 and Dec. 9 at prices between $56.91 and $60 per share, the Post reported.
The stock price for DaVita Healthcare Partners fell to $57 in July after CMS released the proposed rule for the ESRD bundle, and $52 in November. Upon the news that CMS would make the cuts to the ESRD bundle budget-neutral for 2014 and 2015, shares of DaVita rose 8.7%
