George Rovegno Jr., former president of the Boulder, Colo.-based EHR company MIQS, died on Jan. 10 after a battle with esophageal cancer. He was 67.

Rovegno worked for more than 45 years in the health care industry. He was involved in the founding of Gambro Healthcare and worked in Baxter’s Artificial Organs Division in the early 1970s and at Minntech/Renal Systems from the mid 1970s to the early 1990s. He was also involved with health care software since the early 1980s as an author of Renal Systems’ Renalog dialyzer reprocessing software.

Rovegno was active in the industry, attending many nephrology conferences each year.
He is survived by his wife Susan (Gray), two brothers, two sisters, two daughters and their families. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Samaritan House, 2301 Lawrence Street Denver, CO 80205.
