A lawsuit filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court alleges that the New York Organ Donor Network has pressured hospital staff to declare patients brain dead so their organs can be harvested and donated, the  New York Post reports.

The suit includes four examples of improper organ harvesting, according to the Post.  The plaintiff  in the suit is Patrick McMahon, an Air Force combat veteran and nurse practitioner who claims he was fired as a transplant coordinator after four months for protesting the practice. McMahon alleges that the donor network used a quota system.
